I think you have much better odds in other things besides a bar but if you insist on using bars to meet women, here are 3 tips for approaching women at a bar that you must keep in mind. Ignore them at your own peril!

Below are 3 tips for approaching women at a bar. Let me tell you up front that your odds in the bar are NOT as good as other methods such as (but not limited to) speed dating, internet dating, classes, seminars, weddings and meeting women through friends.

However, some guys like the bar and feel comfortable there so that is where they would like to have success with the ladies. All you have to do is find one good one to make it all worthwhile.

Tip 1: Choose your bar carefully

A lot of guys want to meet her at the hot nightclub but that is one of the toughest places on earth unless you just signed a big sports contract and you're being dropped off in your limo. It's loud and designed to be very superficial. Again, not judging nightclubs but if you want to talk about tying your hands behind your back and then getting into a boxing ring, that's the equivalent of trying to find something significant in a hot dance club.

You're better off in a corner bar, sports bar (as long as women actually go there) or some low-key joint where things are more about happy hour as opposed to who can out dance who.

Tip 2: Forget about lines

You might think you have to put on a front and be Mr. Smooth when approaching her at a bar but IF she likes you physically, IF she is open to meeting someone and IF she's not already tied up in a relationship, you have a chance.

Women HELP YOU when they LIKE YOU. If you meet a girl amiable to your charms in the corner watering hole, just say hi to her and talk to her normally. Make sure to keep things light and funny with NO heavy subjects. See if she brushes your arm a few times as she's laughing. Women that like you will give buying signals such as touching you, laughing at your jokes and focusing her attention on you.

If you wander over and she starts looking away and giving you one word answers, you probably didn't pass the physical attraction test or her boyfriend is taking a leak and will be right back!

Tip 3: No drink buying

Some women (not all) make it a game to see how many drinks they can get purchased on their behalf. I've even known some women to walk out with no money and try to get drunk without spending a dime. They even have contests with their girlfriends. You're more likely to find this in a hot nightclub as opposed to a corner bar but it can happen anywhere.

Again, women HELP YOU when they LIKE YOU. Buying her a $5 beer is not going to make you more attractive to her and it is a big (subtle) signal to her that you feel as if you have to buy the right to talk to her.

Forget that! She's lucky a good guy like you decided to come over and give her a shot at a true gentleman. That's how you have to think anyway.
