A few questions to start this thread: Are you one of those people who are into the whole personal gain thing? Or are you someone who rather gives instead of taking what you think you deserve? Do you believe that you deserve wealth and happiness just because you think you do? Or are you someone who knows that thinking is not enough, that you actually need to deserve it by being a positive influence in other people\'s life?

A few questions to start this thread: Are you one of those people who are into the whole personal gain thing? Or are you someone who rather gives instead of taking what you think you deserve? Do you believe that you deserve wealth and happiness just because you think you do? Or are you someone who knows that thinking is not enough, that you actually need to deserve it by being a positive influence in other people's life?

These days, lots of people are having it hard believe that we're only here to share all the things the human race actually took away from nature. One of the most famous American Native sayings goes like this: "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." If one understands this simple sentence, he should be able to find out the true meaning of life.

What I want you to keep in mind is that thoughts lead to actions, those actions always lead to consequences and eventually you're the one who needs to deal with the consequences you created before. This means that everything always starts with you and the force within yourself (your thoughts). Some people don't seem to understand this and those people are always the first ones to come up with lame excuses for not needing to feel the need of behaving altruistically. Whether it's out of anxiety, selfishness or feelings of low self-esteem... some people will always use these excuses. Do you want to be one of those people? If you do, then that's no problem to me, but you should realise that "excuse-people" never live life to the fullest. The biggest problem is that they are unknowingly ("unknowingly" from their point of view) affecting people in their environment and it's only a matter of time before some people will not tolerate this kind of behaviour any longer.

I believe that excuses are mostly used by people who blame others for not succeeding. (with as result that they start feeling rancorous towards people with success) It's like when you're playing football (soccer). You miss a penalty kick because you kicked the ball right into the keeper's arms and then you're making yourself believe that you missed because the keeper is very talented. If you keep believing that, you will never make that goal, which means that you will always be struggling in life. But you will only be feeling like that because you were looking for reasons outside yourself; you weren't thinking about the way you kicked the ball. You're the only one who can decide what you want to do with your life, where you want be and how your future should look like. Life is really easy: yesterday is the past, today is a fact and tomorrow should last forever.

Does this mean that one always stands alone? No, not at all, it's okay to ask for help. It's okay to need a catcher when you feel like falling. We're social animals who are made to support each other. The geese, for example, fly in formation just to make sure that they reach their destination safely. This means that life is not about scratching each other's back, but about supporting each other's wings. Or like a school of fish: they swim together because it gives them more chance to survive individually. On the social behaviour point of view we don't really differ that much from all the other animals on this planet.
