How To Go From Best Friends to Lovers - The Best Way to Find Your Soul Mate

There is no doubt that if you are single you have thought about what it would be like to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. Being able to spend time with a person that we love is one of the many joys in life. So how do you create that type of relationship when you have tried all the traditional methods of meeting people and it just doesn\'t work? I submit to you that maybe you are going about it all in the wrong way.

Being able to spend time with a person that we love is one of the many joys in life. So how do you create that type of relationship when you have tried all the traditional methods of meeting people and it just doesn't work? We typically seek to meet a person and then date them. The problem with this model is that we are basically just focused on the external and the things that matter are not found out till much later. Often this ends in heartbreak and pain. Instead if you flip that idea on its head you end up with a better way to date. Become friends first and then date later.

I met my current girlfriend at church. We were strictly friends for about three months before we ever had our first kiss. It was such an amazing experience that when we first held hands, I actually looked at her and said in shock, "are we holding hands?" She must have thought I was really corny, but I was actually shocked because I never thought it would turn romantic.

In the weeks before this hand holding and first kiss we were doing what I call "tiptoeing in the dark." By this I just mean that we both had feelings for each other, but we didn't dare mention them. We tiptoed and just felt each other out some to make sure that we were not about to ruin our friendship. We carefully walked and looked for signs that the other person had an interest. During this time we went to have coffee at Starbucks. I now know that she left that meeting disappointed because she felt it was awkward. Well it was that way because my feelings were growing too

From the moment that we had our first kiss we moved to another phase and I call that phase "dancing in the minefields." We threw caution to the wind and enjoyed the bliss of romance. This is typically where other people's relationships begin. With us though we had the firm foundation of all that time that we knew each other that we weren't dating. That is a very solid thing to build a new relationship on. It was very hard to hide our faults from each other so we embraced them.

I would encourage you to look around your friends. Maybe there is a person right under your nose that could make you very happy Think about the time you spend with that person and how much you truly enjoy them.
