Just in case the above paragraph has left you a little bewildered, I'll just clarify that the Jelq is a technique that its advocates claim can be employed to increase penis size. It's just one of many so called 'penis enlargement exercises' that are performed just with the hands - so no penis pumps, pills or heavy rocks involved. Does it work? For those with a vested interest in selling subscriptions to penis enlargement guides, the answer is an unequivocal yes. On the other hand, the average doctor would have difficulty disguising his amusement at the question. In my experience, the reality is that these types of penile exercise work for some and not for others. Whether this inconsistency is down to each individual's levels of discipline or is in fact, determined by physiological makeup remains a moot question.
What's undoubtedly true is that to benefit from these techniques takes perseverance - you're not going to see results over night. What's more, no single penile exercise technique can be used exclusively to promote substantial gains. The Jelq for example, tends to promote gains in penis girth as opposed to length - so a careful combination of techniques is essential. However, for some reason the Jelq seems to be the first exercise those new to penis enlargement decide to try and as such, it always helps to have clear instructions:
1. Make sure you warm up before you start. Wrap a flannel that you've soaked in warm water around your genitals. This improves blood flow to the penis and lessens the likelihood of injuries (such as bruising). Apply for several minutes until you look like you've just got out of a hot bath.
2. The fun bit - achieve just a semi-erection. Never try Jelqing with a full boner - the exercise places a great deal of internal pressure on the penile tissues and Jelqing with a full erection could potentially cause serious injury.
3. Apply a non irritating lubricant (such as baby oil or KY-Jelly) in copious quantities to your penis - again this isn't an unpleasant experience.
4. Perform the exercise: Encircle the base of your semi erect penis with your thumb and forefinger - gripping tightly enough so that your fingers act as a tourniquet.
5. Maintaining this tourniquet like grip, slide your hand up your penile shaft towards the tip.
6. The idea of the above step is to force the blood held within your penile shaft forwards towards the head as your fingers slide forward.
7. When your fingers reach just behind the penile head, release your grip and perform the same action with your other hand.
8. Continue this 'milking' action in one fluid motion, alternating between left and right hand until you've completed the desired number of reps.
9. Each repetition (one complete hand motion from base to tip) should be performed moderately slowly - taking about 3 seconds to complete.
For the first few days start by just performing 50 repetitions. This shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to complete. Every few days aim to increase by 10 reps per session, until you set to the 200 - 250 mark. Remember to take 2 - 3 days off per week to ensure full recovery and to prevent 'overtraining'.
So there you have it. Remember, as I stated at the beginning of this article, this isn't the be all and end all of penis enlargement exercises - so don't expect to be knocking apples off trees with your dick any time soon. But hopefully, this article has satisfied your curiosity as to what the Jelq is all about and if you keep the routine up, will give you a foundation on which to build.
