Scheduling the trip.

What type of budget you have to work with? Remember this is a romantic fling so you do not have to go overboard with either one of these. If you have the extra income, you do want to make it as special as possible. Take into consideration a three or four day trip to Jamaica as an example. If finances are tight, check out a romantic bed and breakfast in a nearby destination. Or hop a flight to Las Vegas or Orlando, some of the flights to these destinations are pretty reasonable depending on the time of year.

Here are a couple tips on travel.

First, if you are flying out of the country make sure that you have valid passports and do not forget to take them. It would be really a downer if you get to the airport and you forgot your passport. Second, if you are driving do not make it for more than four hours by car. If you drive longer than that you are defeating the purpose, because the both of you are going to be exhausted and cranky that night and probably the next day too. Third, try not to stay in chain hotels. They tend to be un-romantic and if it is the weekend you probably won't have much quiet time because all you will hear is kids running up and down the hall all night.

When you arrive to your destination.

Here are a few things to do before you go on the trip: Call ahead to the hotel or bed and breakfast and explain that this is a special weekend for the two of you and you want to make it as nice as possible for your companion. Ask to speak to the hotel concierge and ask him or her if they could have flowers ordered for the room along with a nice bottle of wine or champagne sitting on ice with two wine glasses. This will really go over so very well with your significant other. Talk to the owner or concierge also about whether the hotel has a nice romantic restaurant or if there is one close by that they recommend. Make the reservations ahead of time. This really shows that you did your home work and planned every little thing out. This will show the other partner that you put time and effort into this special weekend. Sit back and enjoy the benefits of this enjoyable time together.
