Premature Ejaculation (P.E) is a sensitive subject for many men. We tend to be shy about these matters and thus this is why you, the reader, is online searching for information about P.E! But don't trust everything you read on the net about this problem. I will be going over some myths to help you make an informed decision about the things you read.
1. P.E is a physical problem.
False. This is a complete myth and it was believed for a greater part of the century that it truly was a physical problem with the male body. Back in the day, it was speculated that irritation or even the inflammation of the urethra caused P.E. But today, we know it is not true. This leads us into the second myth.
2. Being hypersensitive is what causes P.E.
False. Being hypersensitive has no correlations to P.E whatsoever. This evidence is provided in numerous surveys and tests done nationally. These same tests also proved that circumcision had no effect on premature ejaculation. What actually causes premature ejaculation is hypersensitivity in emotions. Yes that's right, it's not being physically hypersensitive, but emotionally. During sexual intercourse, our emotions are out of control. Some of these emotions can be fear, anxiety, shame, anger and many others. Many of these first sexual experiences is then passed onto later experiences.
3. Desensitizing creams and sprays can help cure this condition.
False. Large companies lead you to believe that myth #2 is actually true so they can throw a desensitizing cream or spray at you. What these sprays do is they numb the head of your penis. In other words, it limits the sensation of your sexual experience. Who wants to have sexual intercourse to feel nothing? No one, unless you are that devoted to your partner. But sexual intercourse is supposed to be satisfaction for both partners, not just one or the other. In fact, if you use desensitizing creams and sprays, it will rub onto your partner. This means that your partner will also have a numbing feeling. Thus, coupled with premature ejaculation, your sex lives drastically crash and burn.
4. Medications and Pills work.
False. Most pills only work as a placebo effect because they don't do anything. The worst part is, a placebo effect on a physical aspect is extremely ineffective. Medication and pills are too costly and they don't work. Period.
These are the 4 big myths involved around premature ejaculation. Of course there are many out there. I would like to emphasize the point that if you have this condition, you are not a lone and you don't have to be shy.
