Things to Keep Out of the Bathroom and Why

The bathroom has become a catch all hasn\'t it. If one were to keep the bathroom only for its intended function imagine how much space could be saved. However, there are arguments galore about what is and what isn\'t needed in the bathroom.

The Bathroom

Since I am old fashioned it is very easy for me to pontificate about what one should and should not have in the bathroom.

It seems to me that the bathroom should have a bath, a basin and a toilet. I really don't see that there is any other necessity.

However, being married to the greatest wife in history I am forced to accept that my idea of what is needed in a bathroom is silly and really not of this world.

What Is Not Needed In The Bathroom

Here is where I begin to get into hot water (no pun intended). I really do not understand why it is necessary to have enough storage space to hide the Titanic. It seems to me that there are a lot of things that really don't have to be in the bathroom.

However, I accept that I am in the minority in this area.

I didn't realize until we had daughters as well as having a wife that the necessary range of cosmetics was so vast. I thought that a bit of face cream, maybe and a hair dryer should really be quite an extravagance. Little did I know. It seems that there are lotions and cremes for every possible condition. If one is going to be able to live in today's society it must be possible to have a very large cabinet of cosmetics where any situation can be catered for. There is makeup called foundation. But it is really not that simple. I don't know why but it seems that foundation can cover a multitude.

After that there is no way I can describe the various things that are necessary for eyebrows, eyelashes, upper lips, lower lips, lips, foreheads, chins, necks, ears and on and on.

It seems that each tiny part of the female anatomy requires a different collection of cosmetics. If it is a daytime situation there is a whole array required. If it is nighttime another entire collection is required. We dare not get into the situation where it may be summer or winter or fall or spring. This will always require its own version of whatever is needed.

So to get back to the premise of part of this article, a very large storage space is required if you are fortunate enough to have females in your home. The more varieties of females the more space that will be required.

What Is To Be Kept Out

The whole premise of this article was supposed to be what is to be kept out of the bathroom.

I had better begin to address that.

I would suggest that all fishing equipment is to be kept elsewhere. Also the necessary equipment for the home gym or workout should certainly be in the garage and not the bathroom.

Even though some of the family might like to have the television, the computer with access to the internet for shopping and the latest movies in the bathroom I genuinely feel that it might be okay to have these bits elsewhere.

Conclusion

It is with humility that I admit I am losing ground in trying to keep the bathroom for what I consider the essentials, but maybe I will be able to chat with you online and then blog about it while I am having my spa one day soon.
