Darren Rowse, Brian Clark and Chris Brogan have coined a new term for it: \"The Third Tribe\" of online content-providing marketing bloggers. There\'s almost too much food for thought. Yet, I remain hungry.

I'm afraid I've been reading way too many great blog posts from the likes of Brian "copyblogger" Clark, Johnny B. Truant, Sonia Simone, Darren Rowse, David Meerman Scott, Steve Chazin, Seth Godin, Christopher Knight, and a whole slew of others. Darren Rowse, Brian Clark and Chris Brogan have coined a new term for it: "The Third Tribe" of online content-providing marketing bloggers. There's almost too much food for thought. Yet, I remain hungry.

The days of promoting your business with wads of cash and ad agencies are nearly gone. You can do it all by yourself with a blog, website, article marketing or any number of other ways online. The key is providing readers with quality content. I confess, my content could be better. A whole lot better. I've written a lot of trash in my day. I didn't mean to waste anybody's time or clutter the Net with a bunch of "word litter." But, it happens. And, since when do you have to worry about overfilling the Internet landfill?
However, quality content is king.

We now have the viral genies called Facebook, Twitter, Ezine Articles, MySpace, LinkedIn, Friendster, YouTube, endless classified ad and coupon sites, and so many more I can't come close to listing one-tenth of one percent of them. But, talk about finding free places to get the word out. Oh my God! There has never been a better time to go for broke because you can do it for free or on a shoestring. Your main investment is time. But, it's too much fun to call it work. Call it an addiction if you must. I have no arguments to refute it. But hopefully, it's going to be a profitable one and I'll never look back.

Steve Chazin of MarketingApple speaks of taking what's already out there but giving it a new twist. I guess it's the "don't reinvent the wheel, just make it better" model. Make your product or service more appealing than its relatives. He reasons that there is already "shelf space" created in prospective customers' minds for particular services and products, so rather than trying to add a new shelf for your stuff, just find a way to add yours in that same space. Makes sense to me. That's what I'm trying to do, so reading his words of tremendous wisdom really rang true for me.

I hope this article isn't just more mindless clutter for you. That's the last thing I intended. But, I have to realize it all depends on how receptive you are to what I have to say. And, I can't help saying it to save my life. When the wheels are turning and you start to see the universe of potential out there, why it's darn near impossible to give it up. To the contrary, it's all I ever feel like doing. Like many of you, I want to retire from the ol' day job and make this my new gig for good! Kudos to the new "Viral Internation."
