Why I Finally Stopped Trying to Learn Online Marketing on My Own

The biggest mistake 99% of all online marketers make when they start out is trying to do it all and learn it all themselves. We wouldn\'t try taking on any other career with no training, skills or knowledge about the job would we? So why do we think we can just get in there and make a fortune with no know-how at all? Here\'s why I changed my strategies and who I turned to for guidance.

This article is for those looking to succeed in an online business, otherwise why would you be putting all of the time, effort and money doing what you're doing. And, believe it or not, I really want to help you get your dreams up and running as soon as possible.

Are you happy with the size of the online marketing learning curve? I know, I've tried to do it all myself, supposedly to save money, and because I wanted to control my own destiny. All I got from that bit of stupidity was being tired,

frustrated, angry and an a whole lot poorer. I can't believe how hard it was to get anywhere working online. But when I think about it in hindsight I cab see that it's almost business suicide to try and simply "DO THIS" all on your own. Really, you wouldn't take on any other business without at least a modicum of training or experience would you?

I was working as a very successful Mortgage Broker until February last year when we lost our home and all our possessions to a huge bush fire here in Gippsland Victoria Australia where we've lived for over 25 years. After the fires I just couldn't get my head around doing what I'd been doing, so in my delusion I thought I'd start working from home and working online.

I signed up with what I know to be a great business, that being Dubli, and began promoting it online. Problem was I really had no idea what the hell I was doing. Sure, I got some customers, as you do, but it was hard slog and not at all what I'd expected it to be. The hours were long - sitting in front of a screen sending emails, harassing my friends, neighbors, and associates,

just like the company suggested I do.

Only I knew, somewhere inside me I just knew, that what I was doing was completely wrong and outdated. I was using old methods made popular by mobs like Amway and Herbal Life. Methods that worked for the very few at the cost to the many. Only a very small number of producers working these sorts of businesses ever made much more than pocket money and I wanted a ship load more than that.

So I started researching for a smarter way. I looked at buying leads, co-registered leads, affiliate marketing, ezine marketing, website design, using auto responders, creating email campaigns, pay per click advertising. You name it I looked at it and all it did was confuse the heck out of me. Geez, I was having enough trouble keeping one or two things in my head after the devastation of the fires and here I was trying to start a whole new career. "Who's the dummy" I thought.

Then I had an epiphany! "What I need is to talk to someone whose actually made a success of this stupid business". Either that, or go back to Mortgage Broking. So I gave myself, well maybe I should say Heather my wife gave me, six months to "get my act together" and either make it work or drop the whole idea.

I looked at a lot of supposed GURUS and Mentors but most still seemed to promise the world but really made it seem too good to be true, and we all know if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true. Then I found a bloke called Jonathan Budd. His spiel was certainly more down to earth and much more evenly balanced. But what he said and what he showed me made me believe I could really do this. And guess what! I can! and I am!

If you're in the same boat I was, or even if you're somewhat further advanced than I am know, you still really need to see how all of the pieces go together in the MLM and online marketing business to have any chance of making a dollar in this game. You can learn it all on your own, but you and I know that's a guarantee for almost instant failure. It just takes too long and costs you much too much in time, energy and money for very little return. So here's introducing a bloke called Jonathan Budd.
