Usually people start with just a domain and WordPress or some other CMS installed. Many even feel guilty to be SEO conscious and to even reveal the fact that they might want to consider writing in a search friendly way. Before starting a blog or a website one needs to be conscious about some common SEO strategies though it isn't a 'must' as people might put it. If one starts promoting one's blog right from the outset when having merely 10 to 15 posts, users probably won't give much importance to your blog unless they find some kind of breathtaking information on it. If the writer plans to post such earth shaking information, then he or she could go ahead and start promoting right from the first post. The catch is, each and every post must be breath taking and even updated daily. If one is not able to meet these requirements, then pressing the pause button to one's SEO work and starting to build great content is a better option. Once the blog can compete with other blogs or manages to reach a Google page rank between 3 and 4, one could start employing SEO strategies.

Bloggers, writers and web 2.0 entrepreneurs need to understand SEO mechanisms and how optimizing one's site on search engines and link building would help them reach success. It is also mandatory for a SEO client to know that there already must be some content available before starting the campaign.
