SEO stands for search engine optimization. At this time google dominates the search engine world. SEO is very complicated and is constantly changing on a regular basis. First it is the content that you have on your website, and second it is the keywords that you use in your web pages.
LSI. If ranking your web page at the very top of the search engine is important to you, then it is imperative that you understand one of the least known terms on the Internet. This is called LSI, which stands for Latent Semantic Indexing. In the simplest of language, LSI is a methodology of logic that is used for auto document classification. It examines every word in the documents of a corpus and calculates specific measurements based on similarity and individual word term relevancy.
When it comes to search engine optimization, saying the right thing is not as important as using the right words in a correct and measured way. There is an acute method to this madness. With equated precision LSI determines what words or terms relate most to a search engine. Understanding latent semantic indexing is the foundation of effective search engine optimization.
Content. Content is literally king when it comes to search engine rank-ability. The amount of information based, keyword relevant content that your site contains has a direct bearing on where your pages will rank in the cyber world. I've heard that a website should contain twenty or more pages before some search engines will even begin to index the complete site at all. Whether this is true or not is unclear, but from what is understood about LSI, it would not be surprising to me if this were true.
Keywords. Proper relevant keywords, that are in relation to your primary keywords are critical to your upward ranking ambitions. Using the free google keyword tool is an option that should not be ignored. After all, successful SEO is nothing more than applying research. Once you preform simple research for the keywords in your industry, you are going to know exactly what to do with your website, and why you have chosen to do so.
Links. In order for the search engine to pick up your web pages, they must contain links to other web sites as well as links to other pages within your site. In addition to the links that you have on your website, it is important to have links from outside Authority sites. Understanding links and how they affect the way your pages will rank is as equally important as using proper keywords and producing relevant content.
