First of all, I am not saying you should be part of a pair. Being single has many advantages and we should stop associating being single with some sort of failure. 1 - Where and how you spend most of your time. You could be living like a cave man or cave woman, like a recluse, and of course that would clearly be a huge factor contributing to your single status! Online dating along cannot work if you don't step out of the house! Make sure you spend at least 3 quality hours outside your home, interacting with other singles. It could be a book club or a golf club or a library where many singles go, or your local café, but you must go out. The opposite mistake is that of the socialite who is never alone, but is rather always accompanied by a heard of people. The man or woman of your life could be passing you by but how can you expect her or him to find you when you are hiding behind so many friends, always the party animal? And, avoid being with friends of the opposite gender if you want to find a romantic partner! Above all, start doing things solo. You'll get used to it in a very short time and you will actually enjoy it.

2 - Don't be unapproachable. I know you want to appear strong and independent, but that's not quite like walking with a defensive wall around you. Be approachable, to anybody and everybody, which will send the signals that you are approachable, so that the person of your dreams won't be scared away but will find the courage to come to you! Don't be afraid to open up to the right person, emotionally; being emotionally available and open is the only way to start a real connection with a high-quality date.

3 - Forget your ideal partner. Be realistic. Do you want a trophy wife or a trophy husband or do you want someone who supports you, nurtures you and helps you flourish? If you are too focused on your 'type', what are the chances of finding real compatibility? This is particular the case for men but it can apply to women too.

Stay focused and don't lose your point of reference, which is at times referred to as the N1 RULE to Success in Love.
