Finally, an Affordable Web Page Design That Doesnt Suck

You don\'t have to pay thousands of dollars to have someone build a website for you. Surprisingly it is quite easy to get up and running if you only have someone to show you how or just do it for you.

I remember my first website. It was a blogger account that I used to try to articulate something that the girls in high school would like and be attracted to. That didn't seem to work. I later ended up paying a friend of a friend nearly $1000 to build some site for an apparel company that never got off the ground. I was always frustrated because there seemed to be no way to find an affordable web page design.

The problem with a lot of entrepreneurs is the barriers of entry. The things that keep them from succeeding. One of these things is webpages. You don't look like an official, professional company unless you have your own website and email address that shows you are more than just your neighbor trying to make a few bucks. But if there isn't an affordable answer, then you just cannot do that.

The truth is that there is no reason for anyone to be spending more that a few hundred dollars to get a website. The availability of technology allows anyone with the time and expertise to sit down and create a simple, working website in less than an hour. How can you justify spending thousands of dollars on something that can take less than an hour?

The answer is value. If you want value, then you have to pay for it. But thankfully we have seen just like with digital cameras, you can now buy an amazing camera for about $900 which I remember being at least $5000 or more, only five years ago. So the ability to do the same thing costs much less because we now have the tools to do it. Anyone can do it if they want to spend the time to learn how.

But what makes a website valuable? First, it must be easy to find in Google. If you can't be found in Google, then you are basically invisible to the world (except of course to your friends and your mom, who still can't believe that you have a website, right?). In tech speak, we call it SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. That means that you speak the language that Google is hearing.

Second, being able to contact the person or company that is behind the website is a must because it is like having an advertisement without any phone number or address. It is basically telling the person something, and then walking away. Like going up to a girl and telling her she is cute, then asking for her number but walking away before she gives it to you.

Next, your site must look good otherwise people just won't care how good your offer is. You must be attractive or people will be turned off. Just the look and usability of some sites is enough to exhaust any person browsing the web. Next time you are bored at work, do a search on Google for ugly websites. It is quite surprising.

But with all of those things, you can have a great and affordable web page design so that anyone can purchase and use and show to customers as well as friends. Because without it, then you just aren't as serious as your competitors.
