So first web page tip, make sure that you have one goal in mind for this web page. Is it for your visitor to buy something, or just to learn something, or do you want them to sign up for your email newsletter? You must know going into the design that you have one thing in mind and one thing that can be measured so that you know whether you did or you did not accomplish your goal with your web page design.

Clear all distractions. This is the second of the web page tips, and the most often overlooked. Because people want to do everything, when you really want your visitors to do one thing. If you can get them to do one thing, then you can get them to do more later. But just like multi-tasking never works for you, do not expect your visitors to multi-task either. If you can, get rid of the sidebar, and any links in between the beginning of the page, and the end goal that you want your visitor to do. By clearing the table, so to speak, the visitor can see this one thing and decide on the one thing: yes or no.

The last tip is two-in-one: keep track of your statistics (how many visitors and how many did what you asked) and test different things. Test different designs. Always keep trying new things and always keep changing until you find one that works the best. There is no completely right answer, and no one will know exactly what will work for your audience so you must continually test different tactics in order to find out what will work best for you and your visitors.
